Dr. Vijay C Bose

Dr. Vijay C Bose is Joint Director & Senior Consultant - Orthopedics at SIMS Hospital, Chennai, with more than 40 years of experience. His qualifications include MS in Orthopaedics, MCh in Orthopaedics from Liverpool and FRCS in Orthopaedics from the United Kingdom. His practice focuses on complex reconstruction of the hip, knee and shoulder.

He is particularly known for hip resurfacing, complex hip reconstruction and partial knee replacement. SIMS reports more than 2,000 hip resurfacing procedures and describes his experience with avascular necrosis, acetabular-component positioning and joint-preserving or resurfacing approaches in younger patients. His work also includes knee arthroplasty and selected shoulder procedures.

Dr. Bose's professional recognitions include the Lt. Col. Thayumunusamy Gold Medal, a Young Achiever Award in Orthopaedics, the Best Doctor Award from Tamil Nadu Dr MGR Medical University and an Achievement Award for contributions to hip arthroplasty.
