He completed MBBS and MS in General Surgery at Grant Medical College and Sir J J Group of Hospitals in Mumbai, followed by MCh in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery at Seth G S Medical College and KEM Hospital. He then completed fellowship training in the United States and Canada in adult and paediatric cardiac surgery, including thoracic organ transplantation.
