He completed MBBS and MS in General Surgery at JLN Medical College, Ajmer, then trained in GI surgery at SGPGIMS, Lucknow and completed MCh in HPB and Gastrointestinal Surgery at G.B. Pant Hospital, Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi. He subsequently trained in liver transplantation and HPB surgery.
His practice focuses on liver transplantation, hepatopancreatobiliary surgery and complex gastrointestinal surgery. His expertise includes living-donor and deceased-donor liver transplantation, advanced laparoscopic donor surgery, robotic and laparoscopic liver surgery, liver resections, and surgery for pancreatic, gallbladder and bile-duct disease.
He is also involved in the management of liver cancer and other benign and malignant hepatobiliary conditions.
Dr. Bora has been closely involved in developing the liver-transplant programme at Artemis since joining the hospital in 2016. His department performs pure laparoscopic and pure robotic liver-donor surgery and manages complex grafts, including right-posterior and monosegment grafts. The programme also supports advanced interventional procedures such as TIPS, TARE, TACE and angiographic embolisation as part of multidisciplinary liver care.
He has participated in more than 2,000 liver transplants and performed the first liver transplant in Rajasthan, including the state’s first living-donor and deceased-donor liver transplants. His recognitions include the ILTS Young Investigator Award in 2013 and an ILTS Travel Award in 2012.
