Dr. Kishan A

Dr. Kishan A is a Senior Consultant in Nephrology with more than a decade of experience in kidney medicine, dialysis and renal transplantation. His practice spans general nephrology, critical-care nephrology and long-term management of complex chronic kidney disease, with particular attention to patients who require renal replacement therapy or transplant evaluation.

His main areas of expertise include haemodialysis, renal transplantation, continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis, glomerulonephritis and critical-care nephrology. He also manages infection-related kidney disease, chronic kidney disease, acute deterioration in renal function and patients requiring point-of-care ultrasound as part of nephrology assessment.

Treatment decisions are guided by kidney function, fluid status, comorbidity, transplant eligibility and the expected benefits of different dialysis or medical strategies.

Dr. Kishan completed MBBS and MD in General Medicine through Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, followed by DM in Nephrology from Banaras Hindu University. He also completed a Professional Certificate in Hospital Management from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore.

His academic career includes work as a Professor and Unit Chief in nephrology, postgraduate mentoring and more than 30 peer-reviewed publications. He received first prize for an oral research presentation at the Indian Society of Nephrology Southern Chapter meeting in 2022.
