Dr. Kumar Ankur

Dr. Kumar Ankur is Principal Director & HOD - NICU at BLK-Max Super Speciality Hospital, New Delhi, with 21+ years of experience. His qualifications include MBBS, MD in Paediatrics and DNB in Neonatology, with earlier specialist training and clinical work at Kalawati Saran Children’s Hospital, SGPGIMS Lucknow and Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi.

His clinical practice focuses on neonatal intensive care, neonatal ventilation, point-of-care ultrasound, newborn nutrition and follow-up of high-risk infants. He manages premature and critically ill newborns requiring respiratory support, careful nutritional planning, infection management and close developmental surveillance after discharge. Point-of-care ultrasound is part of his specialist interest for bedside neonatal assessment.

Dr. Ankur is also active academically. He has authored and co-authored neonatal case reports and clinical papers covering complex newborn presentations such as exchange-transfusion complications, congenital disorders, persistent hypoglycaemia and neonatal surgical conditions.

He is associated with the Indian Academy of Pediatrics, National Neonatology Forum and Indian Medical Association, and has contributed to the Handbook of Neonatal Clinical Practice.
