Dr. Mahesha Chikkachannappa

Dr. Mahesha Chikkachannappa is a Lead Consultant in General, Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery with nearly three decades of surgical experience. His practice covers advanced minimally invasive surgery, complex hernia repair, gastrointestinal and colorectal surgery, bariatric and metabolic surgery, thoracic procedures, trauma care and selected breast operations.

His expertise includes advanced laparoscopy, robotic surgery, complex abdominal-wall reconstruction and bariatric surgery. He also performs gastrointestinal, colorectal and thoracic procedures, laser proctology and emergency or trauma surgery. His work combines open and minimally invasive approaches depending on disease complexity, previous operations, anatomy and the need for reconstruction.

Dr. Mahesha completed MBBS at JSS Medical College, Mysore, followed by MS in General Surgery at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar Medical College in Bengaluru. His additional surgical qualifications include FAIS, FIAGES, FALS in Robotic Surgery and FMBS in Bariatric Surgery. He also underwent structured surgical training in the United Kingdom, gaining exposure to general surgery, colorectal surgery, breast surgery, trauma and critical care.

Alongside clinical practice, he has served as a senior consultant surgeon and professor and has been actively involved in postgraduate and DNB training. He received a Best Paper Award from the Association of Surgeons of India.

He may be relevant for patients requiring complex hernia repair, minimally invasive GI surgery, bariatric treatment, colorectal surgery or multidisciplinary management of challenging abdominal and trauma-related surgical problems.
