Dr. Naresh Trehan

Dr. Naresh Trehan is Founder, Chairman and Managing Director of Medanta and continues to practise as a senior cardiovascular and cardiothoracic surgeon. Medanta reports more than 57 years of experience and over 48,000 open-heart surgeries. After medical training at King George’s Medical College, Lucknow, he completed advanced surgical training in the United States at Thomas Jefferson University and New York University Medical Center.

His surgical expertise includes coronary artery bypass grafting, valve surgery, aortic surgery and complex high-risk cardiac procedures. Medanta also lists minimally invasive and robotically assisted cardiac surgery, redo operations and advanced cardiac surgery including heart transplantation. This broad scope allows assessment of patients whose disease may require conventional, minimally invasive or highly complex re-operative strategies.

Dr. Trehan founded Escorts Heart Institute and Research Centre and later Medanta - The Medicity. His recognitions include the Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, Dr. B. C.
