Dr. Nirmala S

Dr. Nirmala S is a Senior Consultant in Neurosurgery with specialist training in functional neurosurgery and experience across brain, spine and emergency neurological surgery. Her practice includes intracranial tumours, hydrocephalus, movement disorders, spinal trauma and degenerative or structural spinal conditions.

Her clinical work covers brain-tumour surgery, functional neurosurgery, spinal disorders and neurosurgical emergencies. She evaluates and manages patients with traumatic brain or spine injuries, stroke-related surgical problems, seizures, neuro-infections and hydrocephalus, as well as patients with movement disorders who may need specialist functional-neurosurgical assessment.

Surgical decisions are based on neurological status, imaging, disease progression and the balance between operative benefit and neurological risk.

Dr. Nirmala completed MBBS, MS in General Surgery and MCh in Neurosurgery through Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, with a strong academic record during her medical training. She later completed fellowship training in Functional Neurosurgery, extending her expertise beyond general cranial and spinal surgery into procedures used for selected movement and functional neurological disorders.
