Dr. Vijaya Mohan S is Senior Consultant and HOD of Orthopaedic Surgery, specialising in joint reconstruction, hip and knee replacement and advanced robotic orthopaedic surgery. He has more than 16 years of experience and also manages arthroscopy and complex lower-limb trauma.
His principal surgical focus is primary and revision hip and knee arthroplasty, including robotic joint replacement, computer-navigated procedures and patient-specific knee replacement. He has additional expertise in arthroscopy, reconstruction after failed joint replacement and management of difficult lower-limb injuries.
His work combines pre-operative alignment and implant planning with modern techniques intended to restore mobility and joint function while addressing complex anatomical or revision challenges.
Dr. Vijaya Mohan completed MBBS at Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram, followed by Diploma in Orthopaedics and DNB in Orthopaedics. He completed a Fellowship in Arthroplasty at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, where he also worked as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon and associate professor.
His advanced training includes centres in Germany, Belgium and Thailand, including Arthrolab Munich, the European Centre for Knee Research, ZNA Middelheim in Antwerp and Chulalongkorn University Hospital in Bangkok. He is also an Advanced Trauma Life Support provider. He has been invited as faculty at national and international meetings for presentations and live surgical demonstrations and is actively involved in training surgeons in arthroplasty, arthroscopy and robotic joint-replacement techniques.
His practice also includes revision planning for failed or painful joint replacements.
