Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute and Research Centre, New Delhi

Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Institute & Research Centre is a specialist oncology institute in Rohini, New Delhi. It began functioning in 1996 as a project of the Indraprastha Cancer Society & Research Centre. The institute and its Niti Bagh unit now have a combined capacity of more than 500 beds.

Cancer care is organised around multidisciplinary, organ-specific teams. Services include surgical oncology, medical oncology, radiation oncology, haematology and bone marrow transplantation. Procedures available at the institute include robotic cancer surgery, CyberKnife treatment, image-guided radiotherapy with TrueBeam, brachytherapy and selected interventional-radiology procedures such as TACE and TARE.

RGCIRC has 14 modular operating theatres and three minor operating theatres for day-care surgery. Critical-care infrastructure includes a 51-bed Surgical ICU and a 21-bed Medical ICU. A dedicated bone-marrow-transplant unit supports transplant care, with associated haematopathology, molecular laboratory and blood-bank services.
