Poem Peroral Endoscopic Myotomy: общие сведения
POEM (peroral endoscopic myotomy) in India is a minimally invasive endoscopic treatment used mainly for achalasia and selected spastic oesophageal motility disorders. A therapeutic endoscopist creates a tunnel within the oesophageal wall and divides the abnormal muscle fibres, including the lower oesophageal sphincter, to improve passage of food into the stomach.
